Genesis 1 is sometimes referred to as a Hebrew “creation hymn,” reflecting the mystery, grandeur and beauty of the act of creation. I attempted to grab hold of the canorous quality and the sense that life bursts forth from the musical notes of wisdom’s song.
Broken, shattered lives are a part of the human experience. What we thought of as authentic and true now becomes cracked and skewed; everything has an edge, and everything is seen through reflecting shards that twist and distort what we once thought was tangible and genuine. There is nothing more devastating and shattering than having your entire reality, everything you thought to be normal about life or about a person falling apart in a shower of tinkling glass. Hopes & dreams - shattered.
In a Mirror Dimly
"For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known.” - 1 Cor. 13:12. Our life, our reality, is but a dim reflection of what God intends for our lives and our world. The pain, the sorrow, the suffering, and the poor self image many of us carry around is a distorted reflection of what is intended.
"I Am the Way"
The gateway to paradise and the River of Life comes through Christ, but the journey to get there involves the cross.
In God's Hands
Is it a painting of Creation? The Old Adam of sin and pain and death in need of God’s redeeming hand, or the New Adam being formed and renewed? New Creation? The answer: yes.
